How often do you go to turn a light switch on in your home and select the wrong switch? When there are multiple switches to choose from, I always seem to flick the wrong one. Even after living in a home for multiple years, it doesn’t get any easier. I have no idea why, it just seems to be one of those twilight zone occurrences. But rather than continually getting frustrated at it, I came up with a very simple solution.
Labels!! Discreet labels that sit nicely underneath each switch. I used a dymo label maker to create these labels, however you could also use a printer and sticker sheet. They are so inconspicuous that they are barely noticeable unless you are looking at the switches up close.
But what I love most about these labels is that my light switches are now user friendly for everyone. Visitors can easily find the switch they need without flicking switches on and off. I simply point them in the direction of the light switches and they can easily identify which one to use.
So the next time you find yourself getting frustrated over ‘which switch is which’. Consider labels. You will be amazed at the difference it makes!
